The ‘Manatee capital of the world’, Spring Hill is the best place to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat, slowly making their way along the coast and inland along the numerous rivers and inlets to feed. The rich natural life isn’t only confined to the water either. The Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park is home to some 19 species of endangered wildlife including black bears, Florida panthers, gopher turtles and bald eagles. The park is a wonderful asset for anyone in a villa for rent in Spring Hill, Florida, as you can explore on foot, by bike and by canoe, which is certainly the most relaxing and peaceful way to see the park. The Apalachicola National Forest is nothing short of a natural wonder, and is thought of as the best place to walk and cycle in Florida. The bird watching credentials of the forest are undeniable.
After a long day of exercise and exploration, a little pampering goes a long way. The hot springs that adorn the area have been fully taken advantage of, but it is the scuba diving in the underwater caves forged by the springs which is really impressive. Both Manatee Springs and King Spring have been voted into the top 10 scuba sites in the world as the variety of tropical fish species is nothing short of a miracle.
The shoreline provides further entertainment. The white sand beaches are impossibly soft, and many days can be spent from Spring Hill accommodation with the sand between your toes and the sun on your face, but the waters of the Gulf of Mexico are even more exciting. Sailing, windsurfing and deep sea fishing trips thrive in the Gulf of Mexico, bringing Spring Hill to the eyes of the international travel market.
